Combating the Coal Dust Explosion Hazard – Implementation of the DJP Pneumatic Dust Dispenser – Conclusions and Challenges An important element of protection against the effects of coal dust explosion is the correct lo- cation and execution of stone dust shelves. This can be done, inter alia, using a DJP device, which was developed by the employees of the Institute of Mining of the Faculty of Mining and Geology of the Silesian University of Technology and the Bamar Pol Company from Gliwice, who have been dealing with this subject for many years and have experience in designing and implementing this type of solutions. The first presentation of the device took place in Novem- ber 2016 and the implementation of the device for work at "ROW" Coal Mine "Chwałowice" Movement took place in December 2016. In 2017, the unit was sold and implemented at "Bo- rynia-Zofiówka-Jastrzębie" Coal Mine "Borynia" Movement. The consultations and presenta- tions on the national arena conducted by the Team (including the XXVI School of Underground Mining in February 2017) caused a lot of interest and willingness to cooperate on the part of domestic and foreign enterprises in the dissemination of this device. This paper is the result of the implementation of the device for the Polish coal mining industry and the con- tinuation of publications from the previous School of Underground Mining. The conclusions from the implemented implementation were presented and the challenges presented by the au- thors of the solution in further activities related to combating the coal dust explosion hazard were presented.
