U. 2002 Nr 139, poz. 1169 z późn. zm.). CHANGES IN SHAFT SINKING TECHNOLOGY IN POLISH COPPER ORE MINES TO INCREASE ITS EFFICIENCY Shaft sinking process is dependent on specific geological, hydrogeological and mining condi- tions. Sinking of the 1250 m shaft with the technology that is currently used in LGOM mines lasts 5 years. The main goal of the investment is to shortening its time and to make costs more efficient. To achieve this target, some changes in sinking technology were introduced. Those are based on experience that were gained over years of shaft sinking in LGOM mines. This paper presents the results of Task 5 of the I-MORE Project, co-financed by the National Center for Research and Development and KGHM Polska Miedź SA. The main goal of this project was to develop shaft sinking technology that enables the investment to be completed in the shortest possible time, while maintaining work safety and the lowest possible cost.
