Solutions of supports for liquidation crosscuts of longwalls in deep hard coal mines ABSTRACT: The solutions of supports for liquidation crosscuts in deep hard coal mines are a significant element of the structure necessary in the technological process of coal excavation. A proper selection of the supports and the applied technology are significant in ensuring the safety at the required short performance time. The article provides the characteristics of the existing and applied solutions of supports for liquidation crosscuts while providing a division thereof and specifying their advantages and disadvantages. Based on experience, own solutions and applied calculation models are presented, especially for straight supports with a prop at the coal side wall. The solution of supports for liquidation crosscuts of the longwall equipment must be considered in terms of several phases such as: driving, operation and liquidation. Considering the variable geological and mining conditions, the equipment of longwalls, the measures of transport and the technology of equipment removal, the solutions of supports for liquidation crosscuts are significant in view of the effective use of mining machines in the mine’s production processes.
