The Application of Special Chock Supports in the 31 Longwall Cross- -Cut in the Seam No. 405/3 in the Geological and Mining Conditions of JSW S.A. KWK “Knurów-Szczygłowice” Hard Coal Mine in the Knurów Mining Area Based on the analysis of mining and geological conditions of the rock mass in the area of the planned 31 cross-cut in the 405/3 seam with B8E-S, the activity of the rock mass has been de- termined along with the projection of the impact of tremors on the supports of the heading and the static model of the supports. The span between the support sets in the phase of driving the heading and the installation of the powered roof supports was calculated. ŁPSpA-V32/4/8.7 x 3.8 (length of the shearer cavity) and ŁPSpA-V32/4/7.2 x 3.8 asymmetric flattened yielding supports were used in the designed heading with a spacing of 0.75 m and 0.5 m.
