Technological Aspects of Driving Headings with Rockbolt and Rockbolt-Chock Linings in the Conditions of Polish Hard Coal Mines Polish mining is characterized by multi-seam exploitation within a highly disturbed rock mass and variable and low geomechanical parameters of rocks as well as significant depths reaching from 800 to 1300 m. Driving headings using standalone rockbolt lining with the application of continuous mi- ners with bolting machines installed – the so-called bolting miners – is difficult due to the ne- cessity to select an advantageous location allowing to achieve the efficiency of the solution. Alternative solutions include roadways with rockbolt-chock linings driven by boom-type road- headers with separate or installed bolting machines. The paper concerns the existing driving systems and proposes their application giving con- sideration to increased efficiency while minimizing the labor demand. The paper also provides for various types of bolting mechanization systems.
