ABSTRACT: The paper discusses the issue of forecasting the heat stream from goafs of longwalls and its influence on the formation of climatic conditions. Mining, geological and ventilation conditions have been characterised, which are most exposed to the exposure of the heat source under consideration. On the basis of the results of performed prognostic calcula- tions, the effectiveness of various solutions concerning the selection of cooling devices in pre- venting the temperature hazard in the area of goaf excavation was analysed. The scale of poten- tial difficulties in conditioning the air parameters to the minimum specified by the current regu- lations was presented.
