Problematyka podjęta przez pracowników Centralnej Stacji Ratownictwa Górniczego w Bytomiu ma skłonić do refleksji nad innowacyjnym podejściem do zmian w obszarze działań ratunkowych i samo- ratowania, w oparciu o procedurę postępowania. Faktem jest, że środowisko pracy w podziem- nych zakładach górniczych, wysoka temperatura, wilgotność, zapylenie, stres oraz struktura demograficzna załóg górniczych są determinantami wpływającymi na tak niekorzystną staty- stykę w ostatnich latach. Postulat zawarty przez nas w niniejszym opracowaniu, oparty został na obserwacji, która dla tego zagadnienia jest strategiczna i wiążąca a mianowicie, że wyrobi- ska górnicze utrudniają szybkie udzielenie zaawansowanych zabiegów resuscytacyjnych. Po- prawienie takiego stanu rzeczy możliwe jest zatem jedynie w obszarze mentalnym i przy współdziałaniu grupy zaangażowanych osób. Podejście interdyscyplinarne w omawianym za- kresie pozwoli na uzyskanie pożądanego efektu synergii i z pewnym prawdopodobieństwem zwiększy szansę na przeżycie u osoby z nagłym zatrzymaniem krążenia przebywającej w tym dramatycznym momencie w podziemnym zakładzie górniczym. Proposed innovation in the area of education and response procedures in life and health threatening situations in underground mines on the example of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) ABSTRACT: The aim of the article is to present the issues related to the protection of life and health of employees of underground mining plants in the event of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). The first part of the study, based on the health and safety review of the State Mining Authority, presents the statistics of emergency deaths registered in the years 2016-2020 in the Polish min- ing industry, where the cause was a myocardial infarction leading to acute circulatory and res- piratory failure. Then, referring to the selected definitions of cooperation, an innovation in the field of education and response procedures was recommended for people exposed to particular- ly difficult working conditions as an element of self-rescue and for people providing first aid in accordance with the latest WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines.
