AUTONOMOUS CAPABILITY 1990 2002 2006 2009 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 HBT has been working towards moving Longwall Operators off the face and to safer locations over the past 30 years This journey has seen the incremental introduction of technology to realise our goal. The timeline below provides a brief history of some of these steps: PM4 provided functionality to remote operate a shield 5 away from the Operator on the Longwall Face Introduced TargetLine functionality from VShields to assist with face straightening PMC-R provided the functionality for an operator to control the first shield on the face from the main gate corner to prevent them being inbye of the moving support and working in the dust LASC1 TLA Executed allow LASC integration to HBT Automation solution PMC-R provided functionality to remote operate a shield 10 away from the Operator on the Longwall Face PMC-R Underground Hardware Remote Control (up to 500m away from face) Shearer Hardware Surface Remote Control Pan Angle Measurement System to improve Gate End Floor profile and cut (Horizon control enhancement) Automated TargetLine Trigger from Shearer counter to reduce Operator reliance PMC-R Hardware Surface Remote Control (Shields) Shearer INS Enhancement (Improved north seeking) for increased accuracy of conveyor profile -PMC-R 2.0 Software Surface Remote Control (API) + GUI Enhanced Automated TargetLine functio- nality to include an external trigger from Shearer Data Table updates via API for mine provided roadway/seam information FacePAMS which measures actual Pan Line angles using inclinometers BSL PAMS to further enhance Shearer flight path targets
