14 Implementation and scaling plan for mine water desalination project The pilot project is being implemented at the Zakhidno-Donbaska mine, where the water tariff is the highest at UAH 30.83 per m³. The pilot project will result in the cost of drinking water at current prices of UAH 23.92 per m³. The project scaling was considered for the Ternivska mine, which is located within the town of Ternivka and is part of the same mine administration as the Zakhidno-Donbaska mine. The scaling concept envisages water processing both for the needs of the mine and the needs of the urban population, taking into account the following tariffs: for Ternivska mine - 15.45 UAH/m³, for the population of Ternivka - 37.00 UAH/m³. Comparing the initial indicators for tariffs and costs, taking into account their forecasted change according to the PPI indices used by DTEK, we have the following (see the diagram on the right):- the attractiveness of the project for the needs of the population comes at the same time, i.e. from 2022, the attractiveness of the project implementation for the needs of Ternivska mine is not achieved due to the cost price, which is 55% lower than the tariff; - the attractiveness of the project scaling up occurs simultaneously, i.e. from 2022, given that the specific impact of the cost price on the tariffs of the population and the mine is represented by a 20% reduction.
