Conclusions  A set of technological solutions has been proposed to ensure sustainable development and diversification of production in coal mining regions, as well as to create new high-tech jobs and environmental restoration of the territory, which is in line with DTEK's ESG strategy.  The technically achievable energy potential that can be obtained from secondary coal from waste heaps and sludge ponds, which totals 183.3 TJ , was determined. The annual thermal potential of methane gas utilization was estimated, which reaches 7.1 PJ in the total number of DTEK Pavlohradvuhillia mines. It has been established that up to 1.12 TJ/year of associated heat energy can be extracted from the drainage facilities of mine complexes, which is equivalent to 311.9 MWh/year of electricity generation.  The authors of the paper present a new concept of transformation of coal mines into an industrial and economic complex with expanded use of mineral resources in a closed cycle , taking into account the world experience of using associated resources in coal production, studying the existing conditions of exploitation of coal reserves, productive flows of associated resources, as well as technological, economic and environmental aspects of mining activities. The developed concept allows us to create the basis for extending the life cycle of coal mines with a gradual "soft" transition of production - steam coal to alternative energy sources and mineral resources for the needs of high-tech business.  Using the conditions of Zakhidno-Donbaska mine as an example , the company conducted studies to determine the technical and economic performance of a waste- free desalination complex for mine water with the possibility of scaling it up to other coal enterprises of DTEK Pavlohradvuhillia. The waste-free technological scheme is designed to produce 250 m3/day of drinking water and 25.7 to ns of salt-containing desalination chemical products. It was established that the cost of production of 1 m3 of drinking water is 23.92 UAH/m3 , which is 22.5% cheaper than the established water supply tariff. The potential savings of the enterprise when switching to its own consumption of drinking water from the desalination complex reach UAH 4.24 million per year . The payback period of the non-waste technological complex for desalination of mine water is 2.2 years , which confirms the efficiency of obtaining products from mine water, while ensuring favorable environmental and economic conditions for the coal mining enterprise and nearby mining towns.  The project is in line with DTEK Group's ESG program documents - the company's ESG strategy and environmental policy - and the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the field of environmental protection, which DTEK Group adheres to (Goals 12 and 13). The fundamental changes in the Group's business and culture are aimed at transforming it into an environmentally friendly, efficient and technologically advanced business. 19
