Application of the Multivariant ŁPZiem Support with Enhan- ced Strength Parameters for underground Excavations in Diffi- cult Geological and Mining Conditions at KWK Mysłowice- Wesoła. ABSTRACT: The article focuses on the research and implementation of the innovative ŁPZiem mining support in KWK Mysłowice-Wesoła, particularly in the context of challenges encountered in seam 404/1. This support, a result of collaboration between Ruch Ziemowit, the Main Mining Institute, and Huta Łabędy S.A., is characterized by a modern approach and practical application. Designed to meet increased load- bearing requirements and offer flexibility in adapting to dynamically changing geological conditions, the support has proven to be an ideal solution for KWK Mysłowice-Wesoła, where more durable and less cumbersome support systems were required, especially during the exploitation of mining faces. Currently, the ŁPZiem support is being tested in KWK Mysłowice-Wesoła, with plans to expand its use to seams 501 and 510. It is anticipated that its increased application will bring operational benefits and improve safety in these additional areas of exploitation. The article emphasizes that the adaptability of the ŁPZiem support to geological conditions is one of its key advantages, which is particularly significant in seams with variable geological characteristics. The ability to use the support in both symmetrical and asymmetrical versions with increased overlaps on arches and spandrel beams allows for adjusting the position of the end of the arch beam to the roof of the exploited seam already at the stage of excavation, facilitating work in difficult conditions. In the context of the ŁPZiem type support, important aspects include geological and mining conditions, depth of exploitation, and technical requirements. Supports from the ŁPZiem series are recommended for mines facing complex geological and mining challenges. Their design and strength parameters not only increase the safety of workers but also contribute to cost optimization.
