ABSRACT: The aim of the paper is to popularise occupational health and safety and to im- prove the well-being of employees who, due to their functions, perform dangerous work in eliminating the negative effects of disasters and accidents in the mining industry. The issues taken up by the employees of the Central Mine Rescue Station in Bytom are an example of innovative solutions in the organisational and technical area, implemented in order to raise the standards of health and life protection of mine rescuers.
