Adaptation is sustainable if: • does not contribute to climate change, • does not limit actions to mitigate this change, • does not affect the ability of the environment to regenerate naturally, • is based on the natural functions of ecosystems, when undertaken in one area or sector, • does not limit the adaptation possibilities of other areas and sectors or social groups, • is conducted in partnership, identifies and involves all interested parties and is transparent.
