Title: Free moving trackless trains for underground transport

Autorzy: Christoph Mueller, Mateusz Juzwiak - MT-Silesia Sp. z o.o.

Streszczenie:

Trucks and long trailers need too much turning space in curves, which limits their length. Trains and monorails are guided by steel rails, but rails need separate dedicated infrastructure or even separate transport levels in a mine.
In 2015 and 2016 MT-Silesia together with it’s German sister company implemented a new digital technology for a tunnel supply train which has the capability to change underground transport. The technology electronically steers all axles in a train of mechanically connected rubber tyred vehicles so all axles follow the same track like on a “virtual rail”. No steel rails are needed. This successful world innovation now has proven it’s reliability by more than 60.000km total driving distance achieved. The paper introduces the technology focusing on the electronic steering and guidance functionsas well as auto-steering and driver assistance and the functional safety aspects connected to it.
The outlook covers the most recent developments using most modern e-drives and battery technology.
